SOULSCAPES "Chambertin: Where Two Roads Met”
It was in Chambertin,
a quiet breath of Burgundy,
where the hills wear vineyards like old stories,
and time walks slower than the wind.
They met not in a rush—
but in the stillness of late afternoon,
when the sun stretched long shadows
across stone walls and silent paths.
No one spoke at first.
The village had already said enough:
through crickets in the grass,
a forgotten bell in the chapel,
and the scent of wild thyme
carried by air older than memory.
She had come with questions;
he, with the habit of listening.
Together, they wandered
through fields and unmarked roads,
sharing silences that didn’t need to be filled.
There was no map for what they found.
Only the feeling
that Chambertin had been waiting—
not just for travelers,
but for them.
And when they left,
nothing had changed in the village—
but everything had shifted
between the two who met there.
