About
Sandplay Therapy is a therapeutic method used for both children and adults. It involves creating scenes in a sandbox using miniature figures and objects. This nonverbal form of therapy allows clients to express thoughts, feelings, and inner conflicts symbolically and safely.
The core idea of sandplay therapy is that the sandbox becomes a free, protected space where the unconscious mind can reveal itself through the spontaneous arrangement of figures. This process helps individuals access and process emotions, work through trauma, and promote psychological healing and integration.
Because sandplay bypasses the need for verbal explanation, it is especially effective for clients who find it difficult to articulate their experiences or emotions. It encourages creativity, self-exploration, and insight in a gentle, respectful way.
